Deliveries of ethylene for JSC “Caustic” to be resumed

The deliveries of ethylene for JSC “Caustic” will be resumed, as the Chairman of the Russian Government Vladimir Putin said about at the conference re “The development of oil-chemistry”, which was held in Nizhniy Novgorod on September 13. The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has also taken part in it.

The public affairs service of the President RB reports along with the discussion concerning the prospects of the Russian oil-chemical branch the matter was the conflict between JSC “Caustic” and JSC “SALAVATNEFTEORGSINTEZ”, arousing because of the deliveries of ethylene. The Chairman of the Russian Government Vladimir Putin reached the decision to resume the deliveries of ethylene for JSC “Caustic” from JSC “SALAVATNEFTEORGSINTEZ”. It was settled that during the nearest two months the deliveries would be arranged on a provisional basis and at the expiration of this period the enterprises should negotiate the long-term contract.

Talking about the conflict situation around these two companies Rustem Khamitov underscored that the numerous labor collective was suffering from this dispute first of all. Several thousand “Caustic” workers, who were found on forced leaves, became the hostages of this situation. “We mustn’t let these people stay in the streets” – Rustem Khamitov stated.

The President RB also expressed his opinion concerning the priorities in provision of the gas and oil-chemical branches with the hydrocarbon raw materials. He mentioned that it was necessary to develop the oil-chemical complex in Volga region due to its own resources. “Both foreign and domestic experience shows the import substitution and development of the demand in the end products of the branch inside the country are much more reliable sources of the progress” – Rustem Khamitov said. The President of Bashkortostan suggested that the variant of development of the oil-chemical branch in Volga zone with the orientation to provision of the internal market should be considered more closely. In opinion of Rustem Khamitov all necessary constituents for that are to fore: the capacities, standing idle because of the shortage of raw materials, the underused product pipeline system in the region, educational and personnel’s potential. The President of Bashkortostan mentioned that for activation of the work of the whole gas- and oil-chemical complex in the Volga federal district it was necessary to restore the product pipeline, along which the raw materials were delivered for Volga zone from the Western Siberia.
