Veterans of the Great Patriotic War receive congratulations from the President of Russia

On the eve of the Victory Day Russian postmen traditionally bring the personal congratulations, signed by the President of Russia, to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, toilers of the home front and participants of the Leningrad’s blockade. In 2010 140 thousand “Presidential letters” will be delivered for the veterans in Bashkortostan by the 9th of May, the news-service of the Russian Post reports.
The delivery of the congratulation letters from the President of Russia started on May 3. All letters are sent as the governmental with the note “Victory Day” and presented to the veterans personally. The Russian Post takes part in these annual arrangements, held by the Administration of the President RF, since 1998, delivering the “presidential messages” by the 9th of May. Since then the postmen have delivered more than 45 million congratulations for the former front men.
