Employees of military commissariats celebrate their professional holiday today

The day of the employees of military commissariats is celebrated today in Russia and Belarus. The date for this professional holiday is chosen not accidentally. April 8 per se is the birthday of military commissariats. The provincial, district and regional military commissariats have been established on this very day in 1918 by the Decree of the People’s Commissars Council.

For the last years the circle of the tasks, fulfilled by the employees of the military commissariats, was substantially enlarged. Today along with the recruiting to the Russian Armed Forces they have to perform many social tasks. Military commissars are busy with organization of moral and psychological work with the future recruits, hold the measures on professional orientation and professional psychological selection of the citizens, they have to inform members of the families of the servicemen, deceased or killed when being on service etc.

Special attention is paid to the military-patriotic education among young people of pre-recruit age and in this direction the military commissariats try to cooperate with different public and religious organizations. Thus, the four-sided cooperation agreement about interaction when preparing the citizens for army service between the Military Commissariat RB, the Ufa Russian Christian Eparchy, the Central Clerical Muslim Dept of Russia and the Clerical Muslim Dept RB has been signed not long ago. The agreement presumes joint work of all four parties on education of patriotism and adherence to the soldier’s duty among young people, the rise of army service’s prestige and prevention of the asocial phenomena in the Russian army.
