Parliamentarians from Mari-Al intend to learn positive experience of their colleagues from Bashkortostan

The meeting between the official delegation of the Mari-Al State Assembly and the deputy chairman of the State Council RB Rafael Zinurov has taken place in the State Council House RB.

Having acquainting the guests with the structure and work principles of the Republican parliament and with the social-economic situation in the Republic, Rafael Zinurov told how Mari nation lived in Bashkortostan (according to the last population census 105829 Mari lived in our Republic) and what were the relations between Bashkortostan and Mari-Al and between the Bashkir regions, compactly inhabited by Mari, and the regions in Mari-Al. It was specially emphasized that at 100 schools pupils are taught in Mari language in Bashkortostan and that Cyril Mikhailov – one of the heroes of the Paralympic Games-2010 in Vancouver, the winner of three golden and two silver medals – was an ethnic Mari.

Tomorrow the official delegation of Mari-Al will visit the Ufa city council, the hippodrome “AKBUZAT”, the Center of ethnological investigations, the trade center “GOSTINY DVOR”, the state farm “ALEKSEEVSKY” and Mishkinsky region of Bashkortostan, where many Mari settlements are located. On Saturday the guests will visit Ilishevsky region RB and will go home after lunch.
