Constantine Tolkatchev: “Our relations with South Korea are found at the initial stage of cooperation”

“Our relations with South Korea are found at the initial stage, though our cooperation in economical sphere is rather close. Bashkortostan is one of few regions of Russia, represented here in sphere of machine-building. For example, the helicopters KA-32, made by KUMERTAUUSKY plant, work here for many years. Certain cooperation in sphere of oil chemistry is also to the fore” – the chairman of State Council-Kurutay-RB Constantine Tolkatchev said to a journalist of “ITAR-TASS” in Seoul – “We arrived here by invitation of the ruling party of the country and the National Assembly of Korea for establishment of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Bashkortostan and Korea. Since other directions of cooperation are developed rather poorly, one of our aims is to give the Koreans more complete idea about Bashkiria’s opportunities, its potential and resources”.

The visit of the Bashkir delegation to Republic of Korea will last five days. It is expected the intention protocol on development of the relations between the parliaments of our republics will be signed at the end of it.

“We are interested in attraction of South Korean investments, progressive Korean technologies, we are ready to open joint ventures and to any mutually beneficial cooperation with the purpose of more efficient usage of our resources” – M-r Tolkatched added.

The return visit of Korean envoys is already pre-planned but the date isn’t yet agreed. Bashkortostan is going to prepare the exhibition, called to acquaint Koreans with the Republican economics and its opportunities.
