Paul Kachkaev summed up the totals of Ufa’s development in 2009

The totals of Ufa’s development in 2009 were discussed today at the news-conference with Ufa Mayor Paul Kachkaev. Though during the whole year economically unstable situation was observed in the country as well as in the whole world, the sociological poll, held not long ago proved that about 65% of Ufa citizens considered the crisis year rather favorable for them.

This opinion of Ufa residents is visually proved by the economic indices. Thus, the index of industrial production in Ufa in November made 105,9% as compared with October. At present time this index stands at the level of 96% to 2008 and by the end of the year has to make about 97-98%.

“The most favorable situation is observed at the enterprises of chemical and oil-chemical industry, in production of machines and equipment and in tanning industry” – Paul Kahckaev said – “At the same time the crisis hit the building industry and especially the enterprises on production of building materials most of all. But despite all that we intend to put 560 thousand square meters of housing into operation by the end of the year”.

In the course of the whole year Ufa was actively reconstructing local schools and hospitals. Seven sheltered sport grounds, including the football ground and the skating ring “ULAEVETS”, was erected in Ufa in 2009.

246 tenements have been capitally repaired in Ufa in accordance with the federal program on reconstruction of housing and communal services – almost two times more than in 2008 and more than two billion rubles was invested to reconstruction of Ufa housing fund.
