Meeting with the head of Kuibyshev railroad

On December 16 President RB Murtaza Rakhimov held a work meeting with the head of the Kuibyshev railroad Sergey Kobzev in the Republic House.

Organization of suburban service in the Republic and improvement of passenger services were under discussion in the course of the meeting. Thus, “The Bashkortostan’s suburban passenger company” will be established in 2010 in order to raise the efficiency of suburban services in our Republic. Similar companies are established in several Russian regions within the frames of the program for modernization of the railway transport structure, approved by the Russian Government. As M-r Kobzev reported to President RB, practically everything is ready in Bashkortostan for the suburban company to start working.

“We are ready to sign the contract for suburban services in 2010 between Bashkortostan and the railroad” – Sergey Kobzev said.

Problems with reconstruction of Ufa railway station were under discussion too. In opinion of President RB the problem with the reconstruction should be solved in the shortest terms because the building process is delayed and it can’t but cause serious trouble, President of Bashkortostan underscored.

“The Ufa railway station is the visit card of our Republic and we have to undertake all necessary steps to complete the reconstruction. In its time the Republic has fulfilled all its obligations on financing the reconstruction, having appropriated more than 1,5 billion rubles from its budget. Now everything depends upon “Russian Railways”, which is also financially responsible for completion of the object’s reconstruction” – President RB stated.

The Prime-Minister of Government RB Rail Sarbaev, Minister of building, architecture and transport RB Ravil Ibatullin and the head of Kuibyshev railroad’s Bashkir division Vladimir Buchelnikov also participated in the negotiations.
