Talgat Tadjuddin urges not to be afraid of the doomsday

Chairman of the Central Clerical Muslim Dept of Russia, Supreme Mufti of Russia Talgat Tadjuddin urged representatives of different religions to be more optimistic with respect to the world and to efficient cooperation, speaking at the international conference “Inter-religious dialogue: from mutual understanding to mutual cooperation” in Azerbaijan.

“Many people talk about the imminent doomsday today” – he said – “But 1400 years ago the Prophet Muhammad considered the doomsday was close but said at the same time that if somebody had a young plant, better plant it anyway. It means we mustn’t loose hope under any circumstances, so the representatives of different religions should consolidate themselves and this cooperation will be productive only in case of complete understanding. It is high time to understand there is no a separate Muslim, Christian or Jewish God, so the positive dialogue both with Christians and Jews is so important for us”.

The conference in Baku was dated to the 60th anniversary of the Caucasian Muslim Dept Chairman Allashukur Pashazade and was held in the palace “GULISTAN” and in the mosque “TESE PIR”. President of Azerbaijan Ilkham Aliev, President of Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, President of Dagestan Mukhu Aliev and other secular and religious VIPs participated in its work. The Patriarch of Moscow and Russia Cyril, the Patriarch of Georgia Ilya the II, the Metropolitan of Byelorussia, Minsk and Slutsk Philaret, representatives of Roman Catholic Church and religious activists from the Central Asia, the Middle East, Turkey and Iran were among the honorable guests.

Wide circle of questions, urgent not just for Muslims but for all people of the world, was under discussion at the conference: the problem of the centuries-old Islamic heritage preservation and counteraction to any manifestations of national and religious extremism.
