All-Russian religious procession arrived in Ufa

The all-Russian religious procession “Under the protection of the Blessed Godmother”, devoted to the 430th anniversary of the Godmother Icon appearance in Kazan, arrived in Ufa. “We started our procession on August 1 in the day of memory of the reverend Seraphim Sarovsky” – the head of the procession Sergey Rakutin tells –“People, wishing to join the procession, arrived from Kursk, Orel, Smolensk, Penza, Saransk, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Orenburg, Moscow and Odessa. These people – about 30 – formed the backbone of the procession. But new and new people join us in every settlement and not only adults but children too. In every ten kilometers we make a halt to gain strength and to have a meal”.

Such religious procession is held for the first time. Its route, which length is about 3000 kilometers, runs through Penza, Ulyanovsk, Samara, Orenburg, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions and also through Mordvinia and Bashkortostan. Under any weather conditions the participants of the procession overcome 30-50 kilometers daily. The procession will be over on November 2 in Chelyabinsk and from Chelyabinsk the procession will leave for Kazan to join the celebrities on the occasion of the 430th anniversary of the Godmother Icon miraculous appearance.

It is considered that during such processions people often recover themselves and get rid of harmful habits.

The participants of the procession have already left 1500 kilometers behind for today. The procession will leave for Blagoveshensk from Ufa.
