Icon from Bashkortostan will appear on atomic missile cruiser “Peter the Great”

Painter from the village IGLINO, Bashkortostan, Anatoly Romanov created the icon for the atomic missile cruiser “Peter the Great”. The icon of the Navy Protector, Holy Admiral Theodore Ushakov will appear on the cruiser on September.

"The representative of Bashkir Cossacks came to me” – the painter tells – “And said the delegation of Cossacks intended to visit the cruiser on September and asked me to paint an icon for the crew. I agreed but with just one term that they wouldn’t hurry me. The life of white hats is closely mated with risk and holy protection has special meaning for them”.

Anatoly Romanov is the only knight of Russian Orthodox Christian Church’s Order by the Holy Prince Daniel of Moscow of the III degree in Bashkortostan.
