President RB welcomes participants of the interregional Russian song and chastooshka festival

The Interregional Russian song and chastooshka festival is held in the village UMASHI, Republic of Bashkortostan, June 25-27. On this occasion President RB Murtaza Rakhimov welcomed its participants:

“Dear friends!

Let me heartily greet all of you you – participants and guests of the IX interregional Russian song and chastooshka festival! This wonderful festival attracts amateur artists, continuers and lovers of national spiritual heritage from all nooks of Bashkortostan and many neighboring regions every year.

Our Republic is the native home for people of more than 100 nationalities and here everything necessary is done for development of cultures and languages, education and the press, traditions and art of Bashkirs, Russians, Mari, Chuvash people, Udmurts and other nations, inhabiting Bashkortostan and it was especially underscored at the II congress of the Nations Assembly RB.

The mass and really national holidays, festivals and contests of national cultures – the Days of Salavat Ulaev, the International Aksakov’s festival, Days of Slavic culture and literature, festivals of Bashkir and Tatar song “DUSLYK MONO”, festivals of Finno-Ugric nations, international festival of national cultures “BERDEMLEK” and many others – play very important role in our life and such remarkable event as the festival of Russian song and chastooshka also stands in this line. Great Russian culture has become the mother culture for all nations of Russia during many centuries of joint life and this is the reason why we support these initiatives in Bashkortostan and we appreciate your striving for preservation, popularization and renovation of this really folk vocal art.
