Murtaza Rakhimov: close cooperation of Muslim organizations will contribute to consolidation of the society”

President RB participated in the ceremony of opening of a new office of the Clerical Muslim Department RB:

“Development of Islam on the territory of our region, our spiritual brotherhood has deep roots” – he said – “From the ancient times we keep friendship between all believers and the nations, inhabiting Bashkortostan”.

He said that celebration of the 220th anniversary of Russian Central Clerical Muslim Department’s establishment has become an important event in 2008. After this institution had appeared, Russian adherents of Islam received their own organization, where religious specialists trained and Muslim elite of Russia was formed in the course of many years.

“I am sure that close cooperation of Muslim organizations will contribute to further consolidation of our society, preservation and augmenting of its spiritual, moral and cultural values. This is very important for peace and harmony between nations and traditional religions. Eight religious centers and more than one thousand religious communities work in Bashkortostan today in mutual understanding and harmony. The number of these communities has grown up from 82 to 1313 for the last two decades, i.e. 16 times! More than 80% of them belong to two main religious confessions – Islam and Christianity. Many churches and mosques, restored with the help of the state, have become the centers of spiritual life and decorate our towns and villages, Murtaza Rakhimov said.
