Bashkir sabantuy in Istanbul was met with enthusiasm

Bashkir national plough festival sabantuy has taken place in the center of Istanbul near the famous Holy Sophia Cathedral and the Blue Mosque the day before. It has become the most crowded and enchanting sight of the Days of culture RB in Istanbul. Members of the official delegation RB – Prime-Minister of Government RB Rail Sarbaev, the deputy Prime-Minister of Government RB, Minister of culture and national politics RB Ildus Ilishev, the deputy Prime-Minister, Minister of industry and external economic relations RB Uri Pustovgarov, the head of Ufa administration Paul Kachkaev and other top officials participated in the festival.

Sabantuy literally stands for “the festival of the plough” in translation from ancient Turk language (“saban” – plough and “tuy” – celebrity). Per se this is the ritual, which symbolizes the end of sowing works. The end of this vitally important job is always accompanied by the emotional enthusiasm. The art of any nation is beautiful and interaction of cultures and acquaintance with these cultures contribute to better understanding between people of different nationalities. Plough festivals are always accompanied with sports competitions, songs and dances and the sabantuy in Istanbul wasn’t an exception.
