In Bashkiria, rescuers are helping population of flooded areas

Employees of the State Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for Emergency Situations are assisting the population in the Askinsky district of the republic, where the level of the Sars River has risen.

As reported by the chairman of the agency, Kirill Pervov, today, after receiving information about a dam washout in Perm Krai, rescuers,s together with representatives of the district administration,n conducted door-to-door visits,d notified the population in the area of potential flooding, and helped prepare for evacuation to minimize damage. In the second half of Sunday, the water level in the Sars River rose by more than 1.5 meters, resulting in flooding of 32 residential properties in the village of Urshady. There are no casualties; a temporary accommodation point was set up, but 38 residents from the flooded areas stayed with relatives. Currently, the work of rescuers, emergency and operational services, and representatives of the district administration is organized on site. Continuous monitoring of the river level is being carried out, Kirill Pervov noted.
