A 56-year-old resident of Ufa sent 4.5 million rubles to scammers in four parcels, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bashkortostan reported. "Social engineers," calling potential victims, found a real gold mine. In a conversation with the woman, posing as social services, they found out that she had recently lost a loved one and skillfully took advantage of the opportunity that fell to them. Then, they started calling her from "psychological support," and soon, following the consolation, convinced her to send her savings to "safe accounts" for their "preservation." As the victim told the police, her communication with the "psychologists" lasted for several months.
