In Bashkortostan, woman without license was detained behind wheel of stolen car

It was later revealed that the car was listed as wanted — it had been stolen from the passenger's ex-wife. The man himself had previously been suspected of committing this theft.

Officers of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Republic of Bashkortostan in the village of Kushnarenkovo stopped a Nissan car, driven by a 27-year-old woman who did not have a driver's license. A 33-year-old passenger was also in the vehicle.

During the document check, the woman explained that she had never obtained a driver's license. It was later revealed that the car was listed as wanted — it had been stolen from the passenger's ex-wife. The man himself had previously been suspected of committing this theft.

The driver and passenger were taken to the police department's duty unit for further investigation. The car was sent to a specialized impound lot.

An administrative report was drawn up against the woman under Part 1 of Article 12.7 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle by a driver who does not have the right to drive). Police are conducting the necessary measures to establish all the circumstances of the incident. The issue of whether to initiate a criminal case regarding the vehicle theft is being decided.
