Car thief detained in Bashkortostan

In the Burayevsky district, a 28-year-old man was detained on suspicion of a series of thefts from cars, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Bashkortostan. The man was left jobless and settled in an abandoned bathhouse in the village of Burayevo. Due to financial problems, he borrowed money from relatives, but lost everything on bets.

Deciding to look for easy earnings, he began robbing cars. At night, the perpetrator looked into garages and courtyards. If the car was open, he simply searched the interior. If not, he broke the glass and took the money. Everything stolen again went to bets.

Currently, five criminal cases have been initiated against the man under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, "Theft." A preventive measure has been assigned to him, a written pledge not to leave.
