In Bashkiria, forester illegally cut down trees worth 1.5 million rubles
A 43-year-old resident of the Chelyabinsk region was convicted under the article "Illegal Logging of forest plantations committed on an especially Large Scale" in the Nurimanov district of Bashkiria. As reported by the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Republic of Bashkiria, in July 2024, the man illegally cut down 16 spruce trees in a total volume of more than 53 cubic meters on a plot of the Sarvinsky district forestry.
The damage caused to the Russian Federation's forest fund amounted to 1.5 million rubles. The defendant did not admit his guilt or compensate for the damage.
