Firefighters rescued 12 people from fire in Bashkiria

Firefighters rescued 12 people from a fire in Bashkiria. The fire broke out in an apartment in a multi-story building on 40 Let Pobedy Street in Kumertau.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Bashkiria, property in the common kitchen of an apartment on the fifth floor of the multi-story building caught fire, and the common corridors quickly filled with acrid smoke.

Thanks to the firefighters' prompt actions, ten people were saved. Two more were saved using rescue devices. Another 15 residents were able to evacuate on their own.

“14 people and four pieces of equipment extinguished the fire. Preliminary, the fire occurred due to a fault in the electrical wiring. The investigation is being conducted by an investigator of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia,” the department reported.
