At least 11 people died after unidentified persons opened fire at school in Kazan

Two people started shooting at a school in Kazan on May 11, according to preliminary data. One of them was a 19-year-old guy - he was detained. According to Izvestia, the young man entered the educational institution with a weapon and opened fire.

According to RIA Novosti, at least 11 people died, most of them children, four were hospitalized. Two students jumped from the third floor to death.

There is evidence that another person with a weapon at the school is holding the hostages in a closed office on the third floor.

The President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Prosecutor of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildus Nafikov, ambulance workers, law enforcement officers left for the scene.

Telegram channels report that children jumped out of the school windows. The building is cordoned off. Security officials are preparing for the assault. There may be more victims.
