16 tourists stuck on a chairlift in the Mratkino mountain ski center in Bashkiria, the regional State Committee for Emergency Situations informs. Now people have already been safely evacuated from it.
The incident happened yesterday afternoon. The chairlift on the north slope stopped due to the failure of the lift motor. It is specified that the length of the lift is 1 km, the height difference from the foot of the mountain to the peak is 300 m. There were 16 people in 91 chairs, including one child.
The employees of the 28th fire and rescue team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the republic and rescuers of the State Committee for Emergency Situations RB went to the site.
At present, the rescue work has been completed - everyone has been evacuated from the lift, the press service of the republican Ministry of Emergency Situations reports. No people were injured. The tourists were accommodated in a heating station in an administrative building on the southern slope.
