Prosecutor's office appealed acquittal of ex-Land and Property Minister of Bashkiria

The prosecutor's office of the Kirovsky district of Ufa appealed the acquittal of the former Minister of Land and Property Relations of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Evgeny Guryev. He was charged with abuse of office.
"The state prosecutor considered Guryev's guilt proven and asked to appoint the defendant a punishment for a combination of crimes in the form of 12 years of imprisonment in a penal colony with a ban on holding positions in state and municipal bodies for a period of 3 years," the press service of the regional supervisory agency reported. "The prosecutor's office believes that the court unreasonably acquitted the ex-official; the conclusions set out in the verdict do not correspond to the actual circumstances of the criminal case."
As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, according to the investigation, the former Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Land and Property Relations RB exceeded his official powers in the sale of land plots at a price twice lower than their cadastral value. However, the court found that Guryev acted within the limits of his powers, and his actions did not contradict the requirements of the law. As a result, on November 25, the Kirovsky District Court of Ufa acquitted the ex-official.
