In Ufa, a Nigerian citizen accused of raping a prostitute was released from prison.

The 24-year-old student from Nigeria, Ayo Osia, was accused of rape and robbery of a 41-year-old Ufa native engaged in prostitution. According to the investigation, on December 31, 2018, a young man came to a woman under the guise of a client and, threatening with a knife, beat and raped the woman, and also took from her the money, four mobile phones and a tablet totaling more than 34 thousand rubles. The victim turned to the police for help. The foreigner was detained in one of the Ufa hostels.

The defendant denied his guilt and claimed that he had sex with the victim by mutual consent and that he took things from her as collateral, as the prostitute had previously stolen $ 500 from him, Mkset.ru reports. At the end of October, participants of the “Pust Govoryat” talk show on Channel One tried to go into the resonant case, Bashinform News Agency reported.

On March 3, the final hearing of this criminal case was held in the Oktyabrsky District Court of Ufa. By the decision of the judge, all the articles charged to the foreigner were changed to minor offenses.

As a result, the court sentenced a resident of Nigeria to serve a sentence of 2 years and 4 months in a penal colony. He spent 1 year and 2 months in jail. This time is set off against him as punishment so Aio was released in the courtroom.
