18 people died in terrorist attack at Kerch Polytechnic College

An explosion occurred at the Kerch Polytechnic College today. 18 people died and about 50 were injured, most of them teenagers. Data on victims are specified, TASS reports. Three-day mourning is declared in Crimea.

According to the Investigative Committee, a homemade explosive device filled with metal objects went off. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the terrorist act article. The head of Crimea, Sergey Aksenov, said that the suspect in the attack was a 4th-year student, who had shot himself after the incident.

Now explosives experts and investigators are working at the scene.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations opened a hotline - 8 (3652) 55-09-05.
