18 people died in terrorist attack at Kerch Polytechnic College
UFA, 17 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. An explosion occurred at the Kerch Polytechnic College today. 18 people died and about 50 were injured, most of them teenagers. Data on victims are specified, TASS reports. Three-day mourning is declared in Crimea.
According to the Investigative Committee, a homemade explosive device filled with metal objects went off. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the terrorist act article. The head of Crimea, Sergey Aksenov, said that the suspect in the attack was a 4th-year student, who had shot himself after the incident.
Now explosives experts and investigators are working at the scene.
