Two militants from Bashkortostan were killed in bombing in Syria - media

UFA, 28 May 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. In Syria, two Russian military advisers were killed in the shelling of militants. Five more servicemen of Russia were wounded, two of them died. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Ministry of Defense.
"At night time in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor, an artillery battery of Syrian government troops was attacked by several mobile groups of terrorists. Two Russian military advisers, who controlled the fire of the Syrian battery, died at the scene", the agency quotes the military department.
Another five wounded servicemen from Russia were promptly brought to the Russian military hospital.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Russian and Syrian servicemen fought against militants for about an hour. 43 terrorists were killed. Later, the ministry clarified that, in addition to advisers, two wounded died in the military's battle.
The Chita.ru news agency, referring to its sources, reports that during the May 23 shelling in Syria, four Trans-Baikal residents and two residents of Bashkiria, who were serving in the Trans-Baikal Territory, were killed. Information from the Ministry of Defense has not been received.
All Russian servicemen were put forward for state awards. The Ministry of Defense also confirmed that a farewell ceremony was held in the Trans-Baikal Territory.
