Bashkiria prosecutor's office stopped sale of manul cat and Japanese crane from Red Book of Russia

UFA, 12 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. The prosecutor's office of the Chishmy district of Bashkortostan revealed the websites where the information about sale of animals, birds and fish listed in the Red Book of Russia was posted.

According to the press service of the republican prosecutor's office, advertisements on selling fish - black amur, taimen, sterlet, as well as animals and birds – a manul cat, Japanese crane, bar-headed goose were published on four Internet resources. All of them are under special protection of the state.

The announcement specified prices, ways of communication with the seller. There was an option to place an electronic order.

The legislation prohibits dissemination of such information. It is punishable by criminal liability. The prosecutor of the district directed four files to the court to recognize the information placed on the websites prohibited for distribution.

The court satisfied the requirements of the supervisory authority. Roskomnadzor has already blocked access to the three websites.
