Tourist fell from Kuperlya waterfall of 10 m height in Bashkiria

UFA, 24 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. Last weekend in Bashkiria, a tourist fell from a ten-meter Kuperlya waterfall, the head of the Emergency and Rescue Service RB Vladimir Temashev informs.
A company of travelers climbed to the highest point of the waterfall - a karst bridge, one of them slipped and fell on the rocks from almost ten meters height. The man suffered a broken leg and multiple bruises.
It was not possible to call rescuers at the scene of the accident - the taiga was around. A motorcyclist passing by went for help to the nearest town. The tourists rendered the victim the first medical aid; they applied an improvised splint on the broken leg and carried him to a car on self-made stretchers.
Arrived rescuers have found travelers at the creek where they got stuck. Then the victim was transported by rescuers of the Zonal Search and Rescue Unit (Kumertau).
As the employees of the Emergency and Rescue Service RB note, this is not the first case of a fall from the waterfall. Among the main causes of accidents, rescuers call drinking alcohol, neglecting safety rules, poor technical training.
