Ufa resident was on board of Moscow-Bangkok plane fell into strong turbulence

UFA, 2 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. On May 1, the "Boeing-777" carried out SU270 Moscow-Bangkok flight. The plane hit a strong turbulence zone 40 minutes before landing. According to one of the passengers, many tourists received open fractures.

As the «Komsomolskaya Pravda-Ufa» website reports, among the victims was a 40-year-old Ufa resident Gulnaz Khalfina. Now she is in a Thai hospital. Her condition is assessed as stable.

As a result of the emergency, 25 passengers were injured, which were thrown from their seats into the aisles in the tail section of the aircraft. All the victims are assisted by medical institutions of the capital of Thailand, the «Izvestiya» newspaper informs.

The turbulence, which hit the plane, is known in aviation as "clear-sky turbulence". Its main feature is that it arises not in the clouds, but in a clear sky with good visibility, when meteorological radar cannot detect its approaching. Therefore, the crew is unable to warn passengers about the need to return to their seats, the airline's website reports.
