St. Petersburg metro explosion resulted in fatalities

As a result of the explosion in the metro, at least 10 people were killed and about 50 people, including children, were injured on April 3. This is reported by the newspaper «Izvestiya» with reference to the source of the "RIA Novosti" agency in emergency services.

"For the moment, there are about 50 victims. Medical professionals are working with them", said the press secretary of the Governor of St. Petersburg.

The TASS source reports that the explosion occurred due to the operation of an unidentified device in the carriage on the runway between the Sennaya Ploshchad and Technological Institute stations, after the train left the station.

According to the Yandex data, now all stations of the St. Petersburg metro are closed.

Information on the dead and wounded is being specified. It is not known yet whether there are any natives of Bashkortostan among the victims. The information on taking regional security measures in public places - station buildings, airports, shopping malls, is being specified.
