Plane skidded off runway in Ufa Airport

UFA, 21 February 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. In Ufa Airport a plane of Saratov Airlines company skidded off the runway for not more than 50 m. The incident occurred on February 20 at 21.15, the spokesperson of the air hub Tatiana Rizwan reports.

"The flight followed the route Novy Urengoy - Ufa. The passengers were not injured. The evacuation was carried out normally, through the emergency exits", the airport informs.

The plane was evacuated from the runway. The airport was closed for arrivals and departures.

The Volga transport investigation department reports that none of the 50 passengers and seven crew members was injured. A possible cause of the accident could be a blizzard, but investigators are checking all versions of what happened. Also the technical condition of the aircraft, pilots and ground control services actions are assessed.
