Bashkiria resident tried to take abroad 1.4 million rubles

UFA, 7 December 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. In Ufa the airport customs officers detained a man who tried to smuggle undeclared money. A 50-year-old resident of Ishimbay departed to the Tajik city of Khujand and headed for the green corridor of customs control, where passengers go without submitting declarations. However, the customs officer decided to scan the passenger’s luggage and found nearly 1.4 million rubles - more than 21 thousand dollars at current exchange rates. Meanwhile, citizens are allowed to carry without declaring the money in the amount of $ 10 thousand. The corresponding amount was returned to the passenger, and the rest was placed in a material evidence room. "The citizen faces a fine from one-half to two times of the undeclared cash or confiscation of the object of the administrative offense", the Bashkortostan Customs reports.
