Accident in Ufa: ice falling off the roof injured three children

UFA, 8 February 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Stanislav Shahov/. In Ufa the ice falling off the roof injured three children. The Ordzhonikidze district administration promised to punish those responsible.

The accident occurred last Friday in 13, Kalinin Street. On the first floor there is a children dance club. The children came out after a workout at the very moment when a huge sheet of ice fell off the roof. The fallen chunks of snow and ice injured a boy and two girls; one of them was even covered with snow, her parents and passers-by rushed to pull her out.

"We called an ambulance. My daughter and another girl were taken to hospital. She has concussion in question, abrasions and scratches. The daughter has occasional headaches, we have already made an appointment with a neurologist”, mother of one of the victims Marina Muzhavirova shared with the Bashinform News Agency. “The boy with his parents went to the emergency station – he was put in plaster".

Representatives of public services and district authorities immediately arrived at the scene. The chief of the public services department accompanied the victims to the hospital and promised to help.

"Guilty employees and the head of the public services department will be punished, it is necessary to clean the snow in time. Now we carry out checks of other roofs with a similar design. As for this building, where the children’s sports school No. 25 is located, in February, a barrier wall will be installed on the roof and an entrance roof overhang will be enlarged", said the head of Ordzhonikidze residential district Marat Galiullin.
