Bashkortostan Customs destructed 1.5 tons of sanction food

UFA, 28 October 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. Bashkortostan Customs YTD discovered and sent to destruction more than 1.5 tons of sanction products, the deputy head of department Dmitry Mosalov said.

These are 800 kg of fruit and vegetables, 770 kg of nuts, 20 kg of poultry meat and cheeses. The banned food was destroyed at the solid waste disposal landfills.

"The Customs does not perform personal search of passengers' luggage in order to detect products prohibited for transportation. It is responsibility of Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) and Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Federal Consumer Rights Protection and Human Health Control Service)", specified Dmitry Mosalov.

The official spoke about the most common violations of customs regulations in the trafficking of non-food products.

"Cold steel arms are still in the "top" of the list, including throwing stars, knuckles, truncheons that Russians tend to carry as gifts for their children. Tourists from China continue to bring slimming drugs with psychotropic substances prohibited in Russia, in China, they are in a free market. Those arriving from Azerbaijan and Turkey often violate the law, trying to smuggle large amounts of cash, while cash over $ 10,000 is required to declare", said Dmitry Mosalov.
