Fire firefighters rescued 20 people from fire in a high-rise in Ufa

UFA, 26 March 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Catherine Sokolova/. In Ufa firefighters rescued 20 people from fire and saved material valuables worth 1.5 million rubles.

As reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Bashkortostan, the fire occurred yesterday in a 12-storey building in International Street in Kalinin residential district. The hearth fire was discovered on the balcony of one-room apartment on the eighth floor. At the time of the fire there was nobody in the apartment, the door was locked. With the help of automatic ladder the fire was extinguished within nine minutes. In the course of fire extinguishing 20 people were evacuated, including two children.

The presumed cause of fire was careless handling of fire.
