13 hectares of forest were damaged by fires in Bashkiria

Three fires, which affected 13 hectares of forest were registered in the Republic of Bashkortostan at the end of the last week after a long break, the press service of the Ministry of Forestry RB informs.
On August 8, due to a lightning a fire occurred on the non-forest area of 0.05 hectares in Zilair forestry 3.7 km from Novoaleksandrovka village. The fire was quickly contained and eliminated.
On the same day in Haibullino forestry 10 km from Komsomol village another ground fire was detected that damaged 7.5 hectares of forest. The cause of the fire is not yet determined. The fire was extinguished by 30 people with application of eight units of special equipment.
On August 9, in the territory of the same forestry 10 km from Valitovo village a ground fire occurred, which affected 5.2 hectares of forest. Its cause is also being investigated.
Thus, since the beginning of the fire hazardous season 31 wildfires were registered in the republic. Fire covered 111.58 hectares, including 55.9 hectares of area given for lease. The average area of fire was 3.6 hectares. The extinguishing efficiency was 97 percent.
The main cause of fires is careless handling of fire. Among other reasons there is a lightning discharge, a spark from power transmission line, a gas leak from a pipeline, and agricultural burning.
To date, there are no registered fires in the forests of Bashkortostan, the department informs.
