Ufa McDonald's dumped contaminants into the sewage system

Tver District Court of Moscow upheld the claim of Ufa Public Prosecutor's Office against the McDonald's company. The grounds for the litigation were the materials of the prosecutor's check, during which it was found that in August 2013 four Ufa fast food restaurants dumped into drains contaminants formed during the cleaning of premises and equipment. The concentration of phosphates and synthetic surfactants in sewage exceeded the maximum permissible values by 10 times, fat – by seven times, ammonium ion – by more than three times.

In this regard, the public prosecutor in a judicial proceeding demanded that the company within two months eliminated violations of environmental legislation and arranged pollution prevention activity, the press service of the Prosecutor's Office RB informs.
