About 4 million people crossed the air boundary of Volga region in 2013, the Bashkortostan Customs reports. Only at Ufa International Airport number of foreign passengers exceeded 700 thousand people.

The Customs department reminds of the need to submit a passenger customs declaration, which is filled in the case if the customs value of imported goods exceeds when traveling by air 10 000 euro, and 1500 euro by sea, road and railway and the total weight exceeds 50 kg, and also if imported and exported cash exceed the equivalent of 10 thousand U.S. dollars.

Moreover, cultural property can not be exported without completing the declaration; the Russian state awards; animals and plants that are endangered, weapons and ammunition, alcoholic beverages in excess of 3 litres, as well as other items defined by customs legislation. Medicines containing narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances are also subject to declaration and must be accompanied by a separate medical report on their use, dosage and course of treatment.

Tobacco and tobacco products are allowed to be imported in quantities of 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars (cigarillos), 250 grams of tobacco or the specified products weighing less than 250 grams per person who has reached the age of 18.

An individual may take out from the territory of the Customs Union for his personal use: fish and seafood (except sturgeon roe) in the amount of not more than 5 kg and sturgeon roe weighing not more than 250 grams (in the original packaging).
