Inhabitants of the Chelyabinsk Region have stolen hundreds of car number plates in Ufa

Employees of the criminal investigation department have detained a group of thieves stealing car number plates in Ordzhonikidzevsky district of Ufa. Four citizens are suspected of theft of several hundreds of car number plates. «Inhabitants of the Chelyabinsk Region came to Ufa as at work. For one visit continuing several days, they took off several tens of plates. They left a note on a windshield with a telephone number for communication. Some car owners addressed at once to police, but other trustful citizens nevertheless called the criminals hoping to receive their plates back. Actually malefactors were not going to return the stolen plates, throwing them out in remote places. Victims were told a bank account to transfer from three to 15 thousand rbl. there», the press-service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on RB informs. An investigation is conducted now; the location of stolen plates is established. Criminals face up to five years of imprisonment.
