In the Karmaskalinsky District, a bridge across the Karaelga River on the Ulukulevo–Kabakovo–Suuk-Chishma road has been opened to traffic. The Bashkiria Road Management Authority announced this.
Previously, an old metal bridge near the village of Kulushevo had been declared unsafe. Authorities closed it to traffic and diverted vehicles onto a temporary bypass road. However, authorities had to shut down this bypass during flood periods, leaving the route impassable again.
Before construction began, specialists conducted hydrological assessments that indicated an arch-type bridge was the most suitable solution for this location. Contractors completely dismantled the old structure and built a new arch bridge.
Additionally, the asphalt concrete surfacing on the bridge span and its approaches has been renewed, and new safety barriers have been installed.
According to public procurement data, the reconstruction contract was valued at 54.9 million rubles, down from an initial price of 57 million rubles.
