In Bashkiria, they have started producing sugar from new beet harvest
To date, two plants have produced 14 thousand tons of granulated sugar.
In Bashkiria, root-crop harvesting is underway in 11 districts, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Bashkortostan reported. Farmers have harvested 12.6 thousand hectares of sugar beets, almost a third of the area. Farmers have collected 473 thousand tons, with an average yield of about 375 centners per hectare.
Traditionally, the most beets are harvested in the Chishminsky District (76.6 thousand tons), Blagovarsky (33.5 thousand tons), and Yermekeyevsky (22.5 thousand tons).
Sugar plants have been launched. Today, the Chishminsky Sugar Plant is processing more than 6 thousand tons of beets per day, and Rayevsakhar is processing more than 5 thousand tons. By September 16, the republic had produced 14 thousand tons of white sugar.
Last year, the root crop harvest amounted to more than 2 million tons with a yield of 480 centners per hectare.
