7-8 residents now hold credit cards for every 100.
Residents of the Republic of Bashkortostan took out almost 43,000 credit cards in August — 3,600 more than in July (+9%). The average limit was 108,000 rubles, down from 113,000 in the previous month (-5%), the United Credit Bureau reported.
Experts believe the traditional surge in interest in this banking product is connected to preparations for the academic year and the business season following vacations. It helps bridge the gap until payday and pay off the debt during the interest-free period.
Credit cards have the highest rate (because this type of loan is provided without collateral); in August, the average full cost of a credit card loan was 50.5%.
In total, 308,400 credit cards have been issued in the region over eight months. Currently, there are 7.5 credit cards per 100 residents of the republic, with an average limit of 109,000 rubles.
