In Bashkiria, the regional Ministry of Agriculture reported that the forage harvesting campaign is nearing completion.
At the moment, 555 thousand hectares of forage crops have been harvested in the Republic, or 91% of the planned area. Rural residents have procured about 79% of the required amount of roughage and succulent fodder. This amounts to 20 centners of feed units per standard head of livestock. At the same time, agricultural enterprises in the Mishkinsky, Nurimanovsky, Sharansky, and Ermekeevsky districts have procured over 30 centners.
"A total of 571 thousand tons of hay and more than 1 million tons of haylage have been procured," stated the agrarian department of Bashkiria.
The main focus is currently on silage harvesting. So far, 353 thousand tons of succulent fodder have been laid in, or one-third of what was planned. The Aurgazinsky district has procured the most in the Republic — 53.6 thousand tons. The region intends to procure over 1 million tons of this type of fodder.
