Half million tons of hay harvested in Bashkiria

The fodder harvesting campaign continues in Bashkiria. Farmers in the region have harvested more than 500 thousand tons of hay, laid down almost 980 thousand tons of haylage and more than 10 thousand tons of silage. This amounts to 16 centners of feed units per conventional head of cattle, or 62% of the plan, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Bashkortostan reports.

Providing livestock with high-quality fodder meets the goals of the national project "Technological Support for Food Security".

In nine districts, planned targets have been met. Moreover, in 25 municipalities, planned volumes for haylage have been achieved, and in 23 – for hay.

This year, agricultural producers in Bashkiria must ensure the harvest of at least 28 centners of feed units of roughage and succulent fodder per one conventional head of cattle. In quantitative terms, this is more than 650 thousand tons of hay, 1.1 million tons of haylage and 1 million tons of silage.
