In Bashkiria, July inflation became the lowest in three years

Annual inflation in July slowed from 5.5% to 5.1%, the lowest since September 2023, the National Bank of the Republic of Bashkortostan reported. Over the month, prices in the republic increased by 0.3% – half as much as in June.

In midsummer, fruits and vegetables traditionally become cheaper due to the new domestic harvest. Cucumbers and tomatoes fell the most in the region.

With increased production, eggs continued to fall in price. Sugar, by contrast, became more expensive: in addition to the decrease in last year's stocks, rising demand during the home canning season had an effect.

Due to a temporary decrease in oil refining volumes in the country and seasonal growth in consumption during agricultural work and vacations, fuel prices increased.

Smartphones and computers also became more expensive. With the ruble weakening, imports of new batches of goods became more expensive.

At the same time, low demand made refrigerators and televisions cheaper.

Warm weather meant that tent camps and glamping sites posed serious competition to stationary tourist centers and health resorts. As a result, the latter reduced their service costs to attract vacationers.

Overall, annual inflation in the country remained essentially unchanged at 6%. At the same time, prices rose noticeably over the month due to one-off factors: fuel continued to become more expensive, and vegetables and fruits became cheaper more slowly than usual in July. The Bank of Russia will continue to pursue a monetary policy aimed at reducing inflation to 4%.
