In the Buzdyaksky District last weekend, hail destroyed sunflower fields totaling 575 hectares belonging to a local farmer. On other fields with oilseeds and cereals, totaling more than 300 hectares, stem lodging occurred, and crop losses may reach up to 40%. This was announced during a briefing at the Republic of Bashkortostan's Center for Management by the Deputy Head of the District for Agro-Industrial Complex, Stanislav Chuvakov. He explained that farmers who insured their crops will receive compensation for damages.
Unfortunately, the fields with the destroyed sunflowers were not insured. But the authorities of Bashkortostan declared a state of emergency in connection with the loss of the harvest in the Buzdyaksky and Blagovarsky districts, and the affected farmers will be able to receive a deferment on the repayment of short-term loans.
