
Bashkir grain growers have threshed 1 million tons of the new harvest's grain, the region's Ministry of Agriculture reported.
According to the latest data, 330 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops have been mown in the republic, which is 25% of the total area. Providing the region and the country with grain corresponds to the goals of the national project "Technological Support for Food Security," the agricultural department reminded.
Most of the harvested crop is winter grain. In the republic, more than 836 thousand tons of it were threshed with an average yield of 36 centners per hectare. In terms of crops, winter wheat prevails, of which more than 750 thousand tons were harvested.
Meanwhile, farmers in 16 districts of Bashkiria have begun harvesting the main crop of the season—spring wheat. So far, 13.5 thousand tons have been threshed. Some farms have started harvesting spring rapeseed. The oilseed harvest amounted to 750 tons.
