The air harbor of the Republic of Bashkortostan will be able to receive more long-haul Airbuses and Boeings and expand its route network.
Reconstruction work on the airfield complex at Ufa Airport is scheduled for 2028–2030, the Russian Ministry of Transport reported. The work is being carried out as part of the "Efficient Transport System" national project. Previously, the Main State Expert Review Board (Glavgosexpertiza) issued a positive opinion on the project.
As Bashinform reported, there are plans to expand the apron to increase the number of aircraft parking stands, including for long-haul wide-body airliners — those with two aisles in the cabin, flying long distances, and accommodating more than 200 passengers. These aircraft, among others, serve popular tourist destinations.
The project also includes the construction of several facilities: an aircraft de-icing pad, a complex of treatment facilities, transformer substations, and other infrastructure elements.
The developer will be JSC "International Airport 'Ufa'" as part of a public-private partnership.
