10 billion ruble metallurgical plant will be built in Bashkortostan

A resident of the Beloretsk priority development area (PDA) will invest 10 billion rubles in the construction of an innovative metallurgical plant in Bashkortostan, the republic's government press service reported.

The Russian Ministry of Economic Development has included the Tukansky Metallurgical Complex in the register of residents of the Beloretsk priority development area (PDA). The company will invest 10 billion rubles in constructing a plant to process iron ore concentrate into granulated pig iron.

"A metallurgical plant based on the innovative, environmentally friendly FCIT technology will be built and commissioned. The resident will supply primary iron to enterprises in the metallurgy, mechanical engineering, and defense industries. Products manufactured under this investment project are in demand not only in Russia but also in export markets," emphasized Rustam Muratov, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The new resident of the Beloretsk Priority Development Area (ASEZ) intends to implement its investment project between 2026 and 2030, creating 157 jobs.

By the end of the second quarter of 2026, it is planned to develop design documentation, obtain a construction permit, and sign a land lease agreement. Construction and installation work are scheduled for completion in 2027.

Finished products are expected to be delivered by road to nearby consumers in Bashkortostan and to regions of the Volga and Ural Federal Districts that have their own iron or steel furnaces. Products for export to TIS countries and China will be transported by road to the railway station, then loaded onto gondola cars and transported by rail to their destinations. The investor has already reached preliminary agreements with buyers in Russia and China.

The Beloretsk ASEZ resident plans to reach its design capacity for granulated iron sales in 2028. According to the project, the plant, with a capacity of 332,500 tons per year, will occupy less than 15 hectares of land and will provide environmentally friendly production with a closed-loop water circulation system.
