Ufa authorities explain how frost affects outdoor lighting
In winter, streetlights in Ufa operate in an enhanced mode. Frost, snow, and wind place a serious load on the outdoor lighting system, the city administration reported.
According to UfaGorsvet Municipal Utility, during severe cold spells, the insulation on electrical wires becomes less flexible, increasing the risk of damage. Regular inspections help identify problem areas in a timely manner.
Modern LED streetlights tolerate low temperatures well, but sharp temperature fluctuations and ice buildup can still affect their performance. That is why the equipment is selected for Ufa's climate conditions.
