In 2026, Russia officially recognized several popular modern professions, including them in the All-Russian Classifier of Professions and Positions. Now, such professions as fitness trainers, groomers, manicurists and pedicurists, baristas, sous-chefs, as well as designers and digital content creators, have received official status.
In addition to classic professions, the document includes entirely new specializations related to digital technologies, such as data analysts, risk management specialists, mobile app developers, and even virtual camera operators. Professions in the fields of beauty and health have been added, including artistic tattoo specialists, massage therapists, and makeup artists. The new classifier covers approximately 5,600 blue-collar occupations and 4,300 positions, replacing an outdated 1994 document, TASS reported. This document serves as the basis for employment statistics, the development of working time and wage standards, and the calculation of pensions and compensation for workers in hazardous industries.
